The system enables measurement of a wide range of quantities, such as:
- measurement of analog voltage, using isolated channels,
- measurement of pulse width modulated (PWM) signal 200Hz and 400 Hz,
- digital outputs,
- analogue output with the possibility of displaying measured values from the CANbus, from the measured channels and from the “virtual channels” carrying information obtained by calculation.
Distributed CANSAS system was chosen for measurement.
The measuring modules are interconnected with CANbus. The BUSdaq-4 module, equipped with four CANbus inputs, is used to control the system. This type of module is also equipped with a built-in LCD display, which is very convenient for autonomous operation without a computer. The module is equipped with a PCMCIA slot, too, with 500MB semiconductor memory. The module is connected to a local Ethernet network.
The FAMOS software is installed on the control computer and is used for analysis and display of measured data. This program is used worldwide in tens of thousands of licenses. The program enables both real-time data analysis and post-evaluation. Of course, there is also a thorough support of the outputs in the form of a protocol.
The whole measuring system is placed in a case that protects it from environmental influences. Case is equipped with set of connectors which enables standardized connection of various measured quantities.
